Ryo

At the violent end of the Tokugawa era, a young war orphan survives with little more than the swordsmanship inherited from his samurai background. A chance encounter with Ryouma Sakamoto changes his direction when the revolutionary recognizes the boy's skill, gives him the name Ryo, and allows him to travel at his side.

Following Ryouma draws Ryo into the conflict shaping a new Japan. Assassination, political upheaval, and loyalty to people fighting the shogunate force the boy to grow quickly, while his bond with the man who gave him a name becomes the center of a life that could be shattered at any moment by history.
