Karigurashi no Arrietty

Arrietty is a tiny girl who lives with her parents beneath the floorboards of a country house. They are Borrowers, miniature people who survive unseen by taking small things humans will not miss. For Arrietty, retrieving a sugar cube or a scrap of tissue means venturing through a world built on an enormous scale.

Everything changes when Shou, a sickly boy staying at the house before an important medical treatment, catches sight of her. Despite her parents' warnings that discovery by humans can force a Borrower family to abandon its home, Arrietty forms a quiet friendship with him. Yet one human knowing their secret may be enough to place her entire family in danger.
