Cyborg 009: Chou Ginga Densetsu

Years after the 00 Cyborgs return to peaceful civilian lives, a survivor from a destroyed world arrives with a warning: the interstellar conqueror Zoa is searching for a tremendous source of energy known as the Vortex. If he reaches it first, entire worlds could fall under his control.

009 and his comrades reunite and leave Earth aboard the Ishmael, crossing distant planets and hostile fleets to rescue captured scientists and stop Zoa. Their journey through deep space forces the cyborgs to confront not only an enemy of overwhelming scale, but also the cost of a life in which peace never seems to last.
