Katsugeki/Touken Ranbu

In 1863, sword spirits given human form arrive in Edo from the future. Their mission is to protect history from the Retrograde Army, a force traveling through time to rewrite the turbulent final years of the shogunate. Izuminokami Kanesada and Horikawa Kunihiro, both swords once connected to Toshizou Hijikata, take the front line before other sword warriors join them.

Protecting history means more than defeating invaders. The Bakumatsu is filled with betrayal, bloodshed, and deaths that must occur as recorded, including events bound closely to the warriors' own former masters. As the enemy targets moments they personally cherish, duty demands that they defend the past without reshaping it for their own hearts.
