After returning from Niigata, Conan and the others discover that several carefully chosen souvenirs have somehow ended up with the wrong recipients. The packages looked almost identical, and no one can remember exactly when the mix-up happened.

With Heiji visiting Tokyo, the harmless confusion becomes a miniature mystery. Conan and Heiji reconstruct the group's movements and conversations to determine where the gifts changed hands before the mistaken presents create even more embarrassment.
