Doraemon & SF Tanpen: Sora kara no Otoshidama

Middle schooler Hirakawa enters the new year feeling stuck between childhood and adulthood, especially as his childhood friend Mitsu seems increasingly fascinated by her older university tutor. His mood changes when a mysterious shining sphere falls from the sky and begins quietly following him.

The object, which Hirakawa nicknames Tamagon, proves to be a stranded alien with telepathy and other strange powers. Their brief friendship brings unexpected luck, exposes uncomfortable truths about the adults around them, and gives Hirakawa a chance to help Tamagon return to space. In doing so, he begins to understand that growing up is less about abandoning childish interests than learning from painful experiences.
