An unmotivated freshman at Tanenashi High wants a club that demands as little effort as possible. Instead, he wanders into the magic clubroom and meets an upperclassman who genuinely loves stage magic and understands how her tricks should work. The problem is that severe stage fright makes her fall apart whenever anyone watches, turning nearly every performance into a spectacularly embarrassing failure. Despite having no intention of taking club activities seriously, the freshman becomes her only assistant and unwilling test audience. Her determination to prove herself and his attempts to avoid humiliation turn the tiny club into a daily parade of magic tricks that almost never go according to plan.
