Pokemon Movie 01: Mewtwo no Gyakushuu

Created from the genetic material of the mythical Mew, Mewtwo awakens with immense power but no answer to the question of why it exists. After rejecting the scientists who made it and the ambitions of Team Rocket leader Giovanni, Mewtwo withdraws to New Island, convinced that humans and the Pokémon who serve them must prove whether their lives have any greater value than those created artificially.

Ash, Misty, and Brock are among the trainers lured across a violent storm by an invitation from a mysterious master. There they discover Mewtwo's plan to create powerful clones and set them against their originals. As Mew itself appears, the confrontation becomes more than a contest of strength, forcing humans, Pokémon, and clones alike to face what truly gives a life its worth.
