Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso

Kousei Arima was a child piano prodigy, trained relentlessly by his strict mother and known for performances of almost mechanical precision. After her death, trauma leaves him unable to hear the sound of his own playing despite having normal hearing. He abandons competitions and drifts through a colorless life beside his friends Tsubaki and Watari.

Color returns when he meets violinist Kaori Miyazono, a girl who plays with freedom and little concern for the rigid rules that once controlled his music. Kaori pulls him back to the stage as her accompanist and forces him toward the piano he fears. As they grow closer, Kousei must learn whether he can hear his own music again, while Kaori hides a truth that will change the meaning of their time together.
