Winter 1976

Marco Rossi lives a modest life in Genoa with his father and older brother after his mother, Anna, travels to Argentina to earn money for the family. Her letters arrive faithfully until they suddenly stop, and the silence becomes unbearable for Marco as no one can tell him whether she is safe.Despite his father's fears, Marco sets out for South America with his little monkey Amedio to find her. Ships, unfamiliar cities, poverty and long roads separate him from the mother he is chasing, but strangers who offer help and hardships he learns to endure steadily turn a worried child into someone capable of crossing a continent for the person he loves.
