Jiu Yue is a nine-tailed fox spirit more than two centuries old, but surviving modern city life is a challenge no ancient magic prepared her for. She takes an office job to earn money and quickly discovers that her coworkers are hardly ordinary humans either.

Chinese mythological figures, legendary animals, and divine beings now deal with traffic, smartphones, deadlines, meals, and relationships as if supernatural history were simply another part of urban life. Jiu Yue's friends may possess extraordinary powers, yet those powers often make the most mundane situations more ridiculous rather than easier.
