Kami no Shizuku

Shizuku Kanzaki spent his childhood subjected to the unusual training of his father, world-renowned wine critic Yutaka Kanzaki, from memorizing subtle aromas to learning how a drink should be presented. Resenting the world his father tried to force on him, Shizuku walked away and took a job at a beer company, refusing to taste wine at all.

After Yutaka dies, Shizuku learns that inheritance will not pass to him by blood alone. He must identify twelve wines his father called the "Apostles," followed by the legendary bottle said to stand above them all: the "Drops of God." His opponent is Issei Tomine, a brilliant wine critic whom Yutaka adopted shortly before his death. With no formal tasting career to rely on, Shizuku is forced back toward the senses his father trained all his life and into a competition inside the very world he once refused to enter.
