Youkai Watch

Keita Amano wanders into the forest out of curiosity and finds a strange capsule machine that releases Whisper, a ghostlike Yo-kai who has been trapped for 190 years. In gratitude, Whisper gives him the Yo-kai Watch, a device that reveals supernatural creatures living among humans while remaining invisible to most people. Keita soon learns that many annoying or bizarre everyday situations are caused by Yo-kai influencing those around them, and dealing with them requires understanding their personalities more often than fearing them. With Whisper and the cat spirit Jibanyan beside him, Keita solves these problems, befriends new Yo-kai, and can later summon those friends when their unusual abilities are needed.
