Yuusha ga Shinda!

The Gates of Hell open again and demons return to terrorize humanity, but farmer Touka Scott cares little about heroic affairs as long as his radish field remains safe. That changes when the legendary hero Sion arrives to kill a demon attacking Touka's village, then dies moments later after falling into a pit Touka had prepared to protect his crops.

Sion's necromancer companion solves the problem in the worst possible way: she transfers Touka's soul into the hero's corpse and orders him to finish the mission of sealing the gates. Touka now has the body of the world's celebrated champion but none of his ideals or experience, and he must fool everyone long enough to save them before they learn their hero was killed by a radish trap.
