The Kingdom of Gold and the Kingdom of Water have feuded for generations, until a petty dispute finally pushes them into war. Peace comes with an unusual agreement: one kingdom must send its most beautiful woman as a bride, while the other sends its smartest man as a groom. Their rulers try to cheat the promise, leaving kindhearted Princess Sara and the modest scholar Naranbayar caught inside a political arrangement neither chose.
