Sayonara no Asa ni Yakusoku no Hana wo Kazarou

Maquia belongs to the Iorph, a people who live for centuries without aging as humans do, and she has grown up orphaned inside their isolated homeland. When the kingdom of Mezarte invades in pursuit of their long life, many Iorph are killed and Maquia is carried far away from everything she has ever known.

In the ruins of a human village, she hears a lone infant crying and decides to take him with her, naming the boy Ariel and raising him as her son. Maquia knows nothing about motherhood, and the hardest truth is that she barely changes while Ariel grows year after year before her eyes. Wars, relationships, and losses pass through their lives, but the difference in their lifespans never disappears. Maquia, once afraid of loneliness, chooses a love she knows from the beginning will eventually teach her how to say goodbye.
