Saihate no Paladin: Michiyuki

William grows up in a ruined city under the care of three undead guardians: the warrior Blood, the priestess Mary, and the ghostly mage Gus. They teach him combat, faith, magic, and the meaning of living well, while carefully avoiding the truth of why they remain in a city with no other humans.

When William finally learns their past and confronts the god of undeath, he chooses a life of his own under the blessing of Gracefeel, goddess of the flame. Leaving his first home behind, he meets the half-elf Meneldor and takes his first steps into the wider world as a paladin.
