Usagi and her friends have regained a peaceful life, but it does not last. The alien siblings Ail and An arrive on Earth with the Makaiju, a dying tree that sustains them, and begin stealing human energy to keep it alive. With their memories and powers restored, the Sailor Guardians return to protect the city.

After that threat passes, a small pink-haired girl suddenly falls into Usagi's life claiming to be connected to her family. Chibiusa is pursued by the Black Moon Clan, enemies from the future who seek the Silver Crystal. To protect her and the world she came from, the Guardians are drawn into a conflict that reaches across time itself.
