Doctor Gorou Amemiya is a devoted fan of idol Ai Hoshino, so he is stunned when she secretly arrives at his hospital pregnant with twins and asks for help giving birth away from the public eye. Before he can see the children born, Gorou is murdered under mysterious circumstances and awakens again as Aqua, one of Ai's newborn twins.

Aqua and his sister Ruby grow up behind the glittering surface of the entertainment industry, seeing how the lies that protect celebrities can also destroy them. After a tragedy permanently reshapes their childhood, the siblings take different paths toward the spotlight: Ruby chases her dream of becoming an idol, while Aqua uses acting and industry connections to pursue the person he believes is tied to the crime he cannot forget.
