Synopsis
Dr. Tenma, head of the Ministry of Science, obtains an advanced digital brain genome and carries it with him on a journey to Mars. Still unable to accept the death of his son Tobio in a traffic accident, Tenma turns his scientific brilliance toward an impossible goal.
By combining the remarkable genome with a robotic body modeled after Tobio, Tenma attempts to bring his child back to him. The experiment becomes the origin of a new mechanical life whose abilities will reach far beyond the grief that inspired its creation.
