Tetsuwan Atom (1980)

Robot scientist Dr. Tenma creates Atom in the image of his dead son, but rejects him when he realizes a machine cannot replace the child he lost. After harsh beginnings, Atom is taken in by the compassionate Dr. Ochanomizu, who treats him as a person rather than a possession.

Gifted with extraordinary strength and a deeply human sense of right and wrong, Atom repeatedly places himself between people and danger. His battles against criminals, rogue machines, and the powerful robot Atlas force him to confront a society that both depends on robots and fears them, while he searches for a place where humans and machines can truly live together.
