Fuuta's nights with the cat Kyuruga continue exactly as they always have: with him trying to understand a creature that seems to obey no human logic. Kyuruga stares at empty spaces, occupies whatever spot Fuuta needs, demands attention and immediately rejects it, and turns the smallest household habit into a new discovery. There are no grand adventures here, only the tiny details familiar to anyone who has lived with a cat: a sudden sound in the middle of the night, an impossible sleeping position, or an affectionate moment arriving without warning. With every short encounter, Fuuta learns that he does not need to completely understand Kyuruga to enjoy sharing a home with him; much of a cat's charm is remaining mysterious even to the person it lives beside.
