Gegege no Kitarou: Youkai Daisensou

A comet brings disaster to Kikaigashima, where the western yokai emperor Backbeard arrives with Dracula, Frankenstein, a werewolf, a witch, and other followers. He enslaves the islanders and begins building a fortress that will serve as the base for his conquest of Japan.

A boy named Akio escapes and manages to call for Kitarou's help. Although many Japanese yokai are terrified of Backbeard's power, Kitarou refuses to abandon the island. With Medama-Oyaji, Neko-Musume, Sunakake-Babaa, Konaki-Jijii, Ittan-Momen, and Nurikabe, he heads south to challenge an army of western monsters on their new stronghold.
