Life remains deceptively peaceful at Lu Ren's shop, the refuge where mythical beasts of wildly different personalities live away from human eyes. Tianlu, Bixie, Sibuxiang, and their companions deal with new visitors, old memories, and problems that can begin with sweets or jealousy and end somewhere nobody expected.

Beneath the light comedy, bonds from the beasts' past continue resurfacing. Some are searching for lost companions and others are trying to understand incomplete memories, but the odd household they have formed gives each of them a place to return to and a reason to stay together.
