As modern society pushes ancient mythical beasts out of the roles they once held, Sibuxiang is sent into the human world to help supernatural creatures struggling to adapt.

His mission reunites him with old acquaintances and introduces a growing collection of down-on-their-luck beasts, whose legendary origins do little to protect them from rent, work, friendship, and the absurdities of modern life.
