Junk Head

Humanity has gained near immortality in a ruined future, but centuries of genetic damage have also made natural reproduction impossible. Hope survives underground, where artificial lifeforms known as Marigans have evolved in immense subterranean settlements cut off from the surface.

Parton is sent below in a small mechanical body to investigate signs that the Marigans may have regained the ability to reproduce. His mission soon turns into a descent through an enormous, grotesque civilization of monsters, workers, cults, and forgotten experiments, where survival becomes more urgent than the scientific answer he came to find.
