Rope and his squirrel senior Akira wander through their familiar working-class neighborhood with no great mission beyond getting through the day. A shoulder-massage coupon, a bowling alley, free food samples, baseball, a UFO, curry, fireworks, a public bath, and other ordinary encounters become fuel for the pair's dry conversations and Akira's confidently ridiculous logic.
