FLCL: Shoegaze

Ten years after the events that transformed Tsuganei, Masaki struggles to fit in with his classmates because of his unusual background and personality. Then he meets Harumi, a girl even more eccentric than he is, who decides that the best way to free him from his worries is an idea no reasonable person would suggest: blow up Tsuganei Tower.

Harumi pulls Masaki into reckless plans and events far larger than his school troubles. Between the difficulty of belonging and the urge to destroy whatever makes them feel trapped, the pair becomes caught in the lingering consequences of a conflict that never completely disappeared. The question gradually becomes less about escaping the town and more about what each of them is truly trying to leave behind.
