Tokyo Magnitude 8.0 Recap

Mirai and her younger brother Yuuki are visiting Odaiba when a magnitude 8.0 earthquake tears through Tokyo. Buildings collapse, transportation fails, and the familiar city becomes an obstacle-filled landscape separating the children from their home in Setagaya.

They meet motorcycle courier Mari Kusakabe, who is desperate to reach her own family but refuses to abandon them. Together, the three begin a long walk through the devastated capital, facing aftershocks, fires, crowded shelters, and painful uncertainty. Amid the destruction, their journey home becomes a test of endurance and of the fragile bonds that keep people moving when almost everything else has fallen apart.
