The One Piece

Monkey D. Luffy has dreamed of the sea since childhood, inspired by the pirate Shanks and his stories of freedom and adventure. After eating a Devil Fruit that makes his body stretch like rubber at the cost of ever being able to swim, Luffy's goal remains unchanged: find the legendary One Piece and become King of the Pirates.

He begins the journey in a tiny boat with no crew and no map to his destination, but with enough confidence to challenge the entire ocean. On each island he meets people carrying dreams and wounds of their own, gradually gathering the companions who will become the Straw Hat crew, one by one.
