Fresh from robot racing, Team Athlon enters the world of Robot Dodgeball and joins forces with Team Typhoon, led by the talented but stubborn Taren Swift. The league is being sabotaged from within, and the attacks on winning teams suggest that the new competition is hiding a threat far more serious than ordinary rivalry.

Kyle and Taren clash over their methods, but uncovering the culprit forces them to trust one another. Their Athlons evolve with them: Alpha, Beta, and Theta gain the ability to combine as Champion, while the two teams can eventually unite six machines into the mighty Magma 6. Winning matches matters, but defeating the schemes surrounding the league requires teamwork they cannot fake.
