Caiman's search for his identity moves into far more dangerous territory as clues lead toward the Cross-Eyes and Risu, a man who may know something about the figure living inside Caiman's mouth. At the same time, Nikaido becomes increasingly valuable to En after the extraordinary nature of her time magic comes to light.

The cast scatters between Hole and the sorcerers' world, while buried memories from Caiman and Nikaido's past begin surfacing and new members of the Cross-Eyes enter the conflict. Every answer creates another contradiction, and the question 'Who is Caiman?' slowly becomes something more frightening: what if there is no single identity waiting for him to recover?
