Moments away from the underground 'S' races give Reki, Langa, Miya, and their friends a different kind of competition. One rainy day traps the boys at Reki's house, where waiting for the weather to clear turns into a fiercely serious game of Japanese cards, because these skaters can apparently turn almost anything into a contest.

Memories also return to Kaoru and Nanjo's school days, when their long-running rivalry was still taking shape, while Adam and Tadashi's everyday routines reveal a side rarely visible under the lights of a race. Whether they are standing on boards or sitting around a table, none of them can resist a challenge once there is someone nearby to beat.
