Thirty years in the future, Earth has been devastated by pollution and a severe food crisis. Two young Mecard battlers, Damian and Ryu, travel back in time to prevent the catastrophe, bringing with them powerful new Mecanimals and knowledge of what awaits the world.

Their arrival pulls Jason and his friends into another struggle over Mecanimals, where battles in the present can determine whether that ruined future ever comes to pass. As motives clash and new machines enter the competition, the young battlers must decide whom to trust and how far they are willing to go to change history.
