Usagi Drop

Daikichi Kawachi returns to his family home for his grandfather's funeral and discovers Rin, a quiet six-year-old who is his grandfather's illegitimate daughter. The relatives treat her as an embarrassment and a burden, each avoiding responsibility for raising her. Disgusted by their coldness, the 30-year-old bachelor suddenly announces that Rin will come live with him.

Daikichi has never raised a child. His work schedule, sleep, spending, and priorities all change as he learns things he had never needed to consider, from daycare arrangements to making breakfast on time. In return, Rin slowly discovers what it feels like to have a home where no one treats her existence as a mistake. Their bond grows not through grand gestures but through the ordinary daily work that turns a man living only for himself into a parent he never planned to become.
