Diamond no Ace

Eijun Sawamura loses his final middle-school game on a wild pitch, yet the unusual movement of his throws catches the eye of a scout from prestigious Seidou High in Tokyo. He leaves his friends and hometown to join a roster filled with players who were stars at their previous schools, declaring from the beginning that he will become the ace who leads Seidou to Koshien.

Enthusiasm is not enough. Satoru Furuya possesses a terrifying fastball and earns early opportunities, while Sawamura must learn control, pitch design, and how to work with catcher Kazuya Miyuki. Competition inside the team is as demanding as the powerful schools waiting outside it. Seidou aims for the national summit; Sawamura first has to prove he deserves the mound when a real game stops forgiving every mistake.
