One Piece: Episode of Luffy - Hand Island no Bouken

Shortly before the Straw Hats' next major voyage, the crew reaches Hand Island, a place renowned for the skill of its craftspeople but overshadowed by the nearby Marine base. Luffy befriends the old wax artisan Diego and learns how the island's people have been affected by the base and by a painful rift between Diego and his son, who chose a life in the Marines.

As Luffy becomes involved in the conflict surrounding Cannon Town, the trip also brings back memories of the moment that first set him on the path to piracy and the straw hat he inherited from Shanks. Past and present meet as Luffy tries to help a divided family while confronting the abuse of authority threatening the island's ordinary people.
