Natsume Yuujinchou Movie: Utsusemi ni Musubu

Natsume and Nyanko-sensei continue returning names from the Book of Friends until a youkai called Monmonbou points Natsume toward a town once closely connected to his grandmother Reiko. There he befriends Yorie Tsumura and her son Mukuo, discovering that Reiko's presence still lingers in memories belonging to people he has never met.

Meanwhile, a strange spirit seed follows Nyanko home and sprouts into a fruit-bearing tree overnight. Unable to resist, Nyanko eats one of the fruits and suddenly splits into three smaller versions of himself. The effort to restore him becomes entangled with the mystery surrounding the town, leading Natsume through another story where the supernatural present reveals an unexpected piece of Reiko's past.
