After Hal dies in a plane accident, Kurumi withdraws from the world and loses the will to move beyond her grief. Hoping to help her recover, the android Q01 is sent to her in Hal's appearance, carrying his mannerisms and memories so that she can begin confronting the loss rather than disappearing inside it. Kurumi initially rejects his presence, but old promises and shared memories slowly create a path between them. As they grow closer, the relationship between human and machine proves far less straightforward than it first appeared, and a hidden truth behind their grief threatens to change the meaning of everything they thought they had lost.
