Hunter x Hunter (2011)

Gon Freecss wants to become a Hunter not for wealth or fame, but because he hopes to understand why his father Ging chose that life instead of staying with him. He enters the Hunter Examination, a brutal selection process where failure can mean far more than going home. Along the way he meets Killua, Kurapika, and Leorio, each pursuing a completely different goal. Friendship grows between them even as they compete. Passing the exam, however, only opens the door to a far larger world filled with dangerous people, rare creatures, hidden powers, and the long trail that may eventually lead Gon to the father he barely knows.
