Kaya-chan wa Kowakunai

Kaya Satou is notorious at Hanamugi Kindergarten as a troublemaker who stops other children from approaching places and objects for no apparent reason, and several teachers have failed to manage her. When new teacher Chie Hasumi takes responsibility for Kaya, she discovers that the girl's behavior is not simple mischief: Kaya can see evil spirits invisible to everyone else and fights them herself to keep the other children safe.

Once Chie knows the truth, she begins seeing the kindergarten as Kaya does, where an ordinary door, toy, or shadow can conceal something terrifying. She learns to trust Kaya's ability to protect the class, but also notices that some dangers follow the girl beyond school. Kaya may be strong enough to punch the ghosts threatening her friends, yet a harder question remains: who protects her when the frightening thing is much closer to home?
