Takumi Fujiwara has spent the summer defeating some of Gunma's strongest street racers, but one challenge remains: Ryousuke Takahashi, the strategist and leader of the Akagi RedSuns. Once indifferent to racing, Takumi now feels genuine excitement at the thought of facing the man known as Akagi's White Comet.

Ryousuke is equally serious. He retunes his Mazda RX-7 FC specifically for the mountain battle, staking his pride and reputation on a theory about how Takumi can be beaten. With the title of Gunma's fastest driver hanging over the road, Takumi's AE86 enters a duel that will reveal how far his instinct has evolved into passion.
