Gintoki, Shinpachi, and Kagura are still running Yorozuya in an Edo transformed by alien rule, taking any odd job that might keep the rent collector away. Their days swing wildly between petty arguments, shameless schemes, absurd accidents, and encounters with friends and enemies who are every bit as troublesome as they are.

Yet beneath the comedy, old wounds begin to surface. Political unrest, the Shogun’s fate, the Shinsengumi, and the truth surrounding Gintoki’s teacher Shouyou pull the Yorozuya into conflicts with consequences far beyond unpaid bills. As laughter gives way to war, the bonds formed across years of chaos are tested more severely than ever before.
