Kirino leaves Japan to pursue athletic training in the United States, and Kyousuke suddenly has to face daily life without the demanding little sister who had occupied so much of it. As he reconnects with friends and grows closer to Ruri Gokou, the distance forces him to examine relationships he had previously been able to avoid defining.

When Kirino's time abroad threatens to become longer than expected, Kyousuke refuses to accept a future decided without her. His choice carries him overseas and toward a reunion that changes the balance among Kirino, Kyousuke, and the people who have become entangled in their complicated family life.
