Alba is back in prison, while Ross has been trapped in the strange space between worlds by Januar Ein's magic. Their separation should make the quest to prevent the Demon Lord's return more serious, but Ross instead finds Rchimedes sleeping comfortably in confinement, and Alba remains surrounded by people whose behavior makes heroism nearly impossible.

As the two try to escape their respective predicaments, figures tied to Ross's past begin moving again. Old secrets and the threat surrounding the Demon Lord push the absurd adventure toward a conflict that neither Alba nor Ross can solve with their usual bickering alone.
