Mahou Shoujo Pretty Sammy (1996)

Tsunami is next in line to rule the magical kingdom of Juraihelm, but she must first restore a cosmic balance that has tilted toward darkness. She entrusts ordinary schoolgirl Sasami Kawai with a magical baton and the ability to transform into Pretty Sammy, then sends the rabbit-like Ryou-Ouki to assist her.

Sasami considers the whole magical-girl role deeply embarrassing, but she has little choice when the ambitious Ramia sends her own champion, Pixy Misa, to spread chaos with Love-Love monsters. Saving the universe means Sasami must overcome her embarrassment and face an opponent whose flamboyant attacks are almost as troublesome as the monsters themselves.
