Hakuouki Movie 1: Kyoto Ranbu

In the final years of the Tokugawa shogunate, Chizuru Yukimura disguises herself as a boy and travels alone to Kyoto in search of her missing father. A nighttime attack leads her to terrifying white-haired swordsmen and then to the Shinsengumi, the feared police force that destroys them before taking Chizuru into custody.

The Shinsengumi are searching for Chizuru's father as well, so she is allowed to remain with them and joins their efforts to find him. As Kyoto's political violence intensifies, Chizuru discovers that the Shinsengumi hide a dangerous secret and that the mystery surrounding her father is tied to the truth of her own birth.
