Saiyuuki (OVA)

Genjo Sanzo travels west with Son Goku, Sha Gojyo, and Cho Hakkai to stop the resurrection of the demon king Gyuumao. Their route is filled with youkai driven mad by the spreading corruption, and the four travelers rarely pass through a town without finding another problem that demands their attention.

One stop brings them into the troubles of a village and a young mechanic, while another city is threatened by a gigantic beetle and a dangerous plan involving their beloved Jeep. Between gunfire, magic, arguments, and reluctant acts of kindness, the group keeps moving west toward a threat far larger than any single monster they meet on the road.
