Sword Art Online Movie: Ordinal Scale

In 2026, the Augma becomes the newest gaming phenomenon, using augmented reality to let players fight and move through the real world instead of entering a full-dive environment. Its flagship game, Ordinal Scale, quickly attracts Kirito's friends even though he remains skeptical of the technology.

Former SAO players then notice something frightening: memories of Aincrad begin disappearing after certain encounters, while bosses and monsters from the old death game appear inside augmented reality. When Asuna is affected, Kirito takes the competition seriously and searches for the connection between Ordinal Scale and SAO. This time, strength inside a virtual world is not enough, because the threat is attacking the memories that shaped the life he has now.
