Kusuriya no Hitorigoto Movie: Bouhi no Hihou

Jinshi receives an imperial order to fulfill the final wish of a consort who died in the rear palace five years earlier: return her body to her homeland in the south. When the preserved corpse is examined, however, the woman looks as though she died only yesterday, prompting Jinshi to bring Maomao along to uncover the secret.

The journey takes them to Minanshu, a lively city built on water where unfamiliar plants and medicines immediately fascinate Maomao. The region is also troubled by pirates hunting a treasure hidden by a former leader, and the mystery of the body becomes entangled with competing interests and old secrets. When a major incident erupts on the day of the funeral, Maomao faces a case where death, medicine, and buried treasure are inseparable.
